About David's Tree Service
David’s Tree Service is a family business working out of Lynch Station, Virginia. David Snead started it in 1993 and still runs the crew. Thirty-three years later it’s the same kind of outfit it always was: the person who quotes your job is the person who shows up to do it.

What that actually means for you
There’s no salesman and no call centre. You call the number, you talk to us, and David comes and looks at the tree. The price you’re given is the price, and it includes the cleanup.
It also means we say no sometimes. If a tree doesn’t need to come down, we’ll tell you that. If trimming solves your problem for a fraction of what a removal costs, we’ll tell you that too. We’d rather do the smaller job now and be the people you call in five years.
The equipment to do it properly
Most of what makes a tree job safe is having the right machine for it rather than forcing the wrong one. Bucket truck for height, crane where a section can’t be lowered through what’s underneath, chipper for the brush, skid steer with a grapple to lift trunk sections out, and a stump grinder.
A customer on his second job with us put it better than we would: “David has all the equipment needed for any job I have thrown at him.”
Not just houses
A good share of our work isn’t a suburban back yard. We’ve cleared brush off farm fence lines, worked a campground, and taken trees out of a working pasture around livestock and guardian dogs, which is a job that needs a crew willing to slow down and mind what’s around them.
Farms, campgrounds, rental and commercial property, HOA work. If it has trees on it, we’ve probably worked on something like it.
Licensed and insured
Both, and you should ask. Tree work goes wrong expensively when it goes wrong, and an uninsured crew in your yard is a risk you end up carrying.
Ask any tree company for a current certificate of liability insurance and proof of workers’ compensation, and verify it with the insurer rather than taking a piece of paper at face value. That’s not special advice for hiring us. It’s how you should hire anybody who climbs a tree over your house.
How fast we move
Storm damage is immediate, day or night. For regular work it depends on the season and the weather, but it’s rarely long. One customer had us out on a Monday evening to look at the job and the crew was in his pasture the next day.
What customers keep saying
We don’t have to guess at what people value about us, because they write it down: 126 reviews on Google, averaging 4.8 stars. The same three things come up again and again, unprompted.
The cleanup. More than forty of our 126 Google reviews mention it. Brush chipped, logs handled, the yard raked before we leave.
The price was fair. Reasonable, honest, what we said it would be.
We showed up when we said. One customer put it plainly: “He did exactly as he said he would and on time.”
Where we work
Thirteen towns across Campbell, Bedford and Pittsylvania counties, plus the city of Lynchburg. Lynch Station, Lynchburg, Forest, Bedford, Altavista, Rustburg, Gretna, Hurt, Moneta, Huddleston, Evington, Gladys and Goode.
Most of our work comes from people who already know us, or from their neighbour down the road. Thirty-three years in one place will do that.
